Since the launch of the game, the control was very even between both teams; on their part Real Betis fought with only nine players because 2 of their men were send off, the first was the defender Melli during the first half. This punishment made the ‘Green-Whites’ lose their concentration for a moment, however before the end of the first 45 minutes, Betis managed to tied the scoreboard. From the start of the second half the ‘Béticos’ took charge getting closer and closer to the contrary box; in the middle of the second part came the expulsion of Achille Emaná, aspect that did not affected them, instead it gave them strength to carry on firmly until, starting extra time, Málaga scored their winning goal.

This is the seventh triumph in a row for Bilbao’s team, which during the whole match were leading. The consistency with which the Lions played, gave them the enough confidence to feel comfortable playing as visitors in the Vicente Calderón.
